Colonics @ Nourish Your Purpose
...a gentle, therapeutic practice based on the healing properties of water.
At Nourish Your Purpose you will experience the traditional gravitational method of colon hydrotherapy, also known as a colonic, which offers the twin goals of cleansing and toning the colon.
A gentle infusion of warm, filtered water is introduced into the large intestine, while I gently massage the abdomen and control the temperature, volume and pressure of the water. The water hydrates the colon, helping to soften, break up, and then remove impacted and dehydrated fecal, mucoid, parasitic, gas, and other waste material that had been lining the intestinal wall (cleansing).
The water also influences the colon’s peristaltic action, either stimulating it in the case of constipation or sedating it in the case of irritability (toning). The colon’s nerves and glands are freed to resume their normal activities, thereby allowing the large intestine to absorb nutrients and release waste more easily.
Why get a colonic?
The need for colonics typically falls into one of 4 categories:
1. Your colon is in need of rehabilitation or relief from long-standing digestive and elimination problems, such as chronic constipation, excessive gas, bloating and colon irritability, and any of these related signs of dis-ease:
In addition to improved bowel function, clients frequently report other, indirect benefits, such as:
How many colonics do you recommend?
Recognizing that everyone is different and has unique needs is a foundational principle of my work. Any recommendations I make come after a comprehensive intake and first consultation as well as an initial colonic. Depending on your goals & your current situation, I might recommend something as simple as a dietary tweak and occasional follow-up, or one of my in depth Healing with Colon Hydrotherapy programs.
What about the good bacteria in my gut?
It's safe to assume that if symptoms of digestive dis-ease are bringing you in to see me that you have too many of the bad guys and not enough of the good.. Repopulating your system with healthful bacteria is an essential part of colon rehab, however, and how to do is something we'll talk about when you come in for your first appointment.
Are colonics addictive?
No...as colon function improves you naturally will want to come in less and less frequently, hopefully moving to the maintenance stage. Improved function can be maintained by you, the result of a healthy diet and lifestyle practices, such as regular exercise, enough sleep, relaxation, and staying well hydrated.
What's the first session like?
When you schedule your first appointment, I'll send you an intake form to fill out ahead of time. We'll then sit down together to review your situation and talk about your concerns and objectives. I will also explain the colonic process to you and give you the opportunity to ask questions. The colonic itself usually lasts between 35 and 45 minutes, after which you we'll sit down to chat again.. I'll offer you feedback based on the results of the colonic and make recommendations regarding follow-up. Plan to be here for about an hour and a half to three quarters for the first session, and 1 hour for subsequent colonics.
How much does it cost?
I offer both a la carte and package pricing for colon hydrotherapy. The initial appointment is $95.00 and follow-up sessions are $75.00, when paid for individually. If we decide that a series of colonics will be best for you, you will also have the option of purchasing a buy 5 get 6 package at a generous discount.
I’m not sure if this is for me...what should I do?
It took me 5 years to get my first colonic and, while I wish I hadn't waited so long, I absolutely understand your hesitation! I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have so that you can make the decision that is best for you - click here to set up a time to talk by phone.
